Rocking Chair Marathon - World Record Attempt, Prizes, and Scholarship Money!
The Violet Township Bicentennial Celebration Commission is sponsoring a possible world record-breaking Rocking Chair Marathon. It will be held during the Violet Festival, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on July 23, 2008, in the shelter house in Victory Park, Lockville Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. There is a $25.00 registration fee and a limited number of rocking chairs.
The current record stands at 75 hours and 3 minutes. You must rock for at least five minutes past that record to set a new record. You must rock at least 36 hours to be eligible to win any of the top prizes. Click HERE for the registration form

Beard Contest
We've got 5 categories to choose from (if you've got it in ya'): The Lincoln, The Worden, The Burnside, The Buffalo Bill, or The Wyatt Earp. There are several individuals who are looking quite scruffy and interesting right now. Labor Day weekend of 2008 will be the judging of these brave individuals.
